Big news: Wisconson Governor Scott Walker is going to be coming to the grand opening of our Arlington Victory Office, right by Virginia Square Metro Station!

This month we’re also hosting our Happy Hour at Wilson Tavern in Courthouse on Tuesday, August 7th at 7 PM. Come socialize and get happy with your fellow young Republicans and enjoy happy hour specials starting at 7:00 pm. When you enter, look for us at the bar towards the left in the back.

Here’s the deal – $2 fish tacos, $5 rail drinks (16 oz.), and $3 Miller Lites, and they’ll throw in some free appetizers for our gang. Specials last 7:00 to 10:00 pm!

Our upcoming Chairman election will be at RiRa’s Irish Pub on Monday the 20th, at 7 PM. To participate in the election, you will need to be a paid, active member living in the Arlington or Falls Church area. We will be requiring proof of residence, which means a Photo ID or a piece of mail with your name and address on it. We are also narrowing down the list to paid members, which means if you haven’t paid your dues for 2012, now is the time to do it- you can pay securely online at http://afcyr.org/join-us. If you are not sure you’ve paid, you can check with our Elections chair, Jeff Wernsing, at Jeffreywernsing@gmail.com. We want to make sure everyone who can vote does so, and without voter fraud- we are Republicans after all!

Phonebank with AFP Tonight!

Americans for Prosperity is having regular phone banks to encourage people to vote in the upcoming election. You can get involved by going to one of their local regional phone banks, or at home through their personal phones. Here are the dates and times:

Volunteer with ACRC at the Arlington County Fair

The Arlington County Fair is a great way to get involved, meet local people and help advertise that there are, in fact, Republicans in Arlington. The County Fair goes from Friday, August 10th from 4 PM to 10 PM, Saturay August 11th from 10 AM to 9 PM and Sunday August 12th from 11 AM to 7 PM. Help support the Fighting For Our Future PAC!

Officers of the Young Republican Federation of Virginia (YRFV) have launched the Fighting For Our Future PAC, an independent PAC to put Young Republican boots on the ground to volunteer for crucial races. Poll watch for the Republican Party of Virginia

The RPV is heavily recruiting volunteers to serve as poll watchers around the state. Virginia could very well be the battleground that decides who wins the White House and which party controls the US Senate. Our poll watchers will have two functions; to check off voters and to make sure everything inside the poll place is going smoothly. You can help make sure that happens by going to www.MittRomney.com/orca. Any interested individual can sign up. All who do sign up will receive a short poll watcher training session, most likely online. Sign up today!

Volunteer with the Family Foundation of VA

Are you interested in becoming more active with the Pro-Life Movement? Do you live in the Northern Virginian area? Do you think the country is headed in the wrong direction and want a return to our founding principles? Are you interested in strong family values, religious freedom, property rights, and want this to be reflected in the upcoming election? If so then you can help us out at our new office! Come volunteer with the Family Foundation of VA, where we will be doing phone banking, voter identification, canvassing, community out-reach, and other activities. We are located at 3028 Javier Rd (off of Route 50, in between Prosperity and Gallows Rd), on the first floor (Suite 110), past the elevators. Parking is around the back of the building.
