Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in the Arlington Falls Church Young Republicans. I am honored to serve as Chairman alongside so many dedicated Republican activists.

We’ve aggressively expanded our organization these last few months, and I believe Arlington Falls Church Young Republicans can continue to grow in this critical election year.

I am privileged to serve with a dedicated team: Matthew Hurtt, Vice-Chairman; Peter Ildefonso, Treasurer; Elizabeth Ellis, Secretary; and Lance Wheeler, Communications Director. I am confident we can build on our success as we look forward to November.

Meet Scott Walker and Help Romney Win!

Big news: Wisconson Governor Scott Walker is going to be coming to the grand opening of our Arlington Victory Office, right by Virginia Square Metro Station!

Please join some fellow Young Republicans at 10:30 am this Saturday, August 4th at 3811 N. Fairfax Drive Suite 750, Arlington, VA 22203 as we celebrate the grand opening with special guest Governor Scott Walker. Click here to RSVP!

After Governor Walker speaks, we will be hitting the streets for Victory’s Super Saturday. We have walking groups leaving the Victory Office at 9am, 12pm, and 3pm. You can sign up for a walk by visiting http://mi.tt/O2KRsB.

This month we’re also hosting our Happy Hour at Wilson Tavern in Courthouse on Tuesday, August 7th at 7 PM. Come socialize and get happy with your fellow young Republicans and enjoy happy hour specials starting at 7:00 pm. When you enter, look for us at the bar towards the left in the back.

Here’s the deal – $2 fish tacos, $5 rail drinks (16 oz.), and $3 Miller Lites, and they’ll throw in some free appetizers for our gang. Specials last 7:00 to 10:00 pm!

Our upcoming Chairman election will be at RiRa’s Irish Pub on Monday the 20th, at 7 PM. To participate in the election, you will need to be a paid, active member living in the Arlington or Falls Church area. We will be requiring proof of residence, which means a Photo ID or a piece of mail with your name and address on it. We are also narrowing down the list to paid members, which means if you haven’t paid your dues for 2012, now is the time to do it- you can pay securely online at http://afcyr.org/join-us. If you are not sure you’ve paid, you can check with our Elections chair, Jeff Wernsing, at Jeffreywernsing@gmail.com. We want to make sure everyone who can vote does so, and without voter fraud- we are Republicans after all!

Come Meet Star Parker Tonight!

Fellow Young Republicans!

Tonight’s the night! Star Parker is coming to our YR meeting this evening!

Ms. Parker is President and Founder of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, a non-profit think tank which advocates for free market alternatives to welfare. Before involvement in social activism, Star had seven years of first-hand experience in the grip of welfare dependency. She now fights for conservative values, regularly appearing on national media to share her story.

Pull out your Santa hat or yarmulke and spike the eggnog – join us for the 2011 annual Arlington Falls Church Young Republicans Holiday Party!

Where

: We have reserved a party room at Mike Ginsberg’s apartment building (Chairman of Virginia’s 8th District Republican Committee). It is located at the corner of North 13th Street & Wayne Street, only 3 blocks from the Court House Metro.

Cost: FREE for current Active and Associate AFCYR members

***JOIN or renew for 2012 at the door to be entered into our drawing***
We will begin collecting 2012 dues now – everyone who pays
between December 1 and at the party will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to RiRa. The cost is $15 for a full membership and $10 for an associate membership.

50/50 Raffle: To help offset the cost of the party we will have a 50/50 raffle, so bring some cash with you – $2 for 1 ticket or $5 for 3 tickets.

Food and drink will be provided, but feel free to bring desserts or extra wine to share.
